EnergyVision confirms award of public charging-station concession by the Flemish Government

18.12.2025

Following this evening’s media reports, we confirm that the Department of Mobility and Public Works of the Flemish Government formally informed us this evening, after market closing, that it is awarding the concession for public AC charging stations in Flanders largely to EnergyVision. This concerns Lots 2, 3 and 4 of the new concession, representing the majority of the planned charging stations. Whereas the previous concession was operated by TotalEnergies and Engie, EnergyVision will in this new concession be responsible for the rollout, operation, financing and maintenance of the charging stations in:

  • Lot 2: Mobility Regions Leuven and Vlaamse Rand
  • Lot 3: Mobility Regions Antwerp, Mechelen and Kempen
  • Lot 4: Mobility Regions Ghent, Vlaamse Ardennen, Waasland and Aalst

Two-thirds of all new public charging stations

Within this concession, the Flemish Government expects a total of around 8,000 charging points. Based on the planned allocation, EnergyVision will install 5,280 of these, representing approximately 66% of the entire concession. This makes EnergyVision the principal operator within the new Flemish network of public charging stations.

“We are particularly pleased to have secured this award based on both price and quality. We want to show every Fleming that green energy is the cheapest energy,” says Maarten Michielssens, CEO of EnergyVision.

Medium-term objectives comfortably exceeded

With this award, EnergyVision significantly surpasses its earlier medium-term objectives for the number of charging points in Belgium. The new Flemish concession comes on top of previously secured major contracts, including the NMBS concession for the rollout of public charging stations in its parking facilities. As a result of this additional assignment, EnergyVision will further upgrade its growth plans and targets for the coming years.

The company looks forward with great enthusiasm to working with the Flemish Government and local authorities to deploy this network. At the same time, several other projects for public and semi-public charging infrastructure are ongoing. EnergyVision aims to be present across Belgium in the short term with affordable, green charging solutions.
